The basics of tennis can be started with younger children. I bought my son a youth tennis racket (like this) when he was two.

He would playfully hit balls with it in the backyard.

It has been a great way to introduce him to the game I love.

I didn’t start playing tennis until I was in 6th grade.

That was late for me considering I played basketball, volleyball, and softball at much younger ages.

However, it is really the only sport I still play consistently.

The great thing about tennis though is you can really start at ANY AGE.
